Abstract

The degradation rate of atrazine was investigated by HPLC to afford scientific basis for its ra⁃tional application in vegetable fields soil of South China at different temperature,humidity and pH values. The results showed that temperature value was the most obvious impacting factor,Atrazine degraded more quickly with increasing temperature from 5 ℃~35 ℃.Its half⁃lives at (5 ±0.5)℃,(15±0.5)℃,(25±0.5)℃ and (35±0.5)℃ were 187.30 d,19.97 d,14.38 d and 8.87 d.Degradation of atrazine in soil was positively related with temperature.pH had some influence on its degradation the degradation rate of atrazine was the lighest at pH=7.0 and the half⁃life was 10.95 d.The degradation rate of atrazine at pH=7.0 was followed by alkaline (pH=6.0) and acidic soil (pH=8.0) and the half⁃lives were 14.41 d and 16.82 d,respectively.Humidity had little effect on the degradation of atrazine and the half⁃lives were13.35 d,13.64 d and 20.44 d at 30%,60%, 90%.Therefore,temperature is a key factor in the degradation of atrazine,and applying atrazine in summer to control weed is recommended.
