Abstract

The electrochemical reduction process and control procedure of Sr2+on tungsten electrode at 1 253 K in LiF-SrF2-SrO molten system was studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and chronopotentiometry methods using three-electrode system and electrochemical workstation AUTOLAB. The results show that the reduction potential of strontium ion is around -1.0 V on tungsten electrode compared with platinum electrode. The reduction process of strontium ion on tungsten electrode is observed in a single step with the exchange of two electrons. The chronoamperograms indicate that the cathode process is controlled by the diffusion step of ions and the diffusion coefficient is 6.07×10-5 cm2/s.
