Using time-lapse technology to explore the developmental potential of D3 embryos with 7~10 cells

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the developmental potential of embryos with 7 ~10 cells 3 days after insemination in IVF-ET cycles. Methods:D3 embryos from patients under-going IVF-ET at Center for Reproductive Medicine,Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University between Nov. 2014 and Oct. 2015 were analyzed with the help of time-lapse imaging. The division behavior,blastulation rate and clinical outcomes of embryos with 7~10 cells were explored. Results:(1)The early division behaviors of embryos with 7~10 cells were different:most of the 8-cell stage embryos exhibited normal behavior(NB). Among the embryos with 9,10 cells,the incidence of direct cleavage(DC) was higher than NB. All the 7-cell stage embryos exhibited abnormal behaviors,of which reverse cleavage ( RC) and delayed of synchronous divi-sion (S3)were in the majority. (2)Compared to NB,the abnormal division behaviors(DC,RC, S3) all reduced developmental potential in different degrees. (3) The developmental outcomes showed that the 8-cell stage embryos had the highest blastulation rate and implantation rate. The next were embryos with 9 and 10 cells. The 7-cell stage embryos had the lowest blastulation rate and implantation rate. Conclusions:There were abnormal division behaviors of different kinds and percentage in the development process of embryos with 7~10 cells,leading to different de-velopmental potentials. The 8-cell embryo had the highest developmental potential. The next were embryos with 9 and 10 cells. The 7-cell stage embryos had the lowest developmental poten-tial.关键词
