Optimization Design Methods of Concentrated Levitation Winding Structures in Bearingless Permanent Magnet Motors Based on the Magnetic Motive Force Star Graph

Abstract
In consideration of undesirable interaction between radial degrees of freedom and great levitation force ripples in a bearingless consequent-pole permanent magnet motor with conventional concentrated levitation winding structures, the magnetic motive force (MMF) star graphs of three type winding structures were presented. To suppress the levitation MMF harmonic components and to increase the levitation MMF fundamental component, a novel and graphical optimization design method for levitation winding structures was proposed for the first time, which was based on MMF star graphs. And an improved three-phase concentrated levitation winding structure with sub-coils can be obtained by properly superimposing first type and second type to improve the levitation performance. It is noteworthy that the proposed optimization method is applicable to concentrate winding design in bearingless permanent magnet motors with cogging effects. Based on the above improved winding structure, the levitation MMF expression is used for optimizing the winding factor from the perspective of single-phase and three-phase. Then the comparison and intrinsic link of the two perspectives were analyzed. Finally, levitation performance comparisons between before and after optimization were carried out by theoretical and finite element analysis, respectively. The results show that the levitation force ripple is reduced from 21.81% to 0.99% and radial coupling from 26.03% to 4.66%, which verify the effectiveness of the novel optimization design method based on MMF star graphs.关键词
