明清江南地区农家肥的商品化研究
THE STUDY ON THE COMMERCIALIZATION OF FARMYARD MANURE IN JIANGNAN REGION DURING THE MING AND QING DYNASTIES

Abstract
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the rapid development of the commodity agriculture and the high agricul tural output in Jiangnan region, the contradiction between a large population and the relatively little land, the intensive man agement and the expansion of cultivated area led to the gradual increasing demand for fertilizer. Under the drive of the local re - sources shortage and the economic demand, the trading activities of farmyard manure started up in Jiangnan region, including cake fertilizer and manure as the most important commercial fertilizer. Because of the increasing quantity of cake fertilizer en tering Jiangnan region and the increasingly frequent local manure business activities, the lack of fertilizer in Jiangnan agricul ture had been relieved to a certain degree and the crop yields had greatly improved. Although enslaved to the natural economy and the purchasing power of farmers is limited, the commercialization of Jiangnan farmyard manure was limited both in depth and in breadth. However, it was still a great progress in Chinese agriculture history.关键词
