摘要

Abstract

To study the solidification and stabilization effect of the new binder-MC on the soil con-taminated with high level Pb, Zn and Cd, the soil pH, toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP), synthetic precipitation leaching procedure (SPLP) and unconfined compressive strength tests were carried out. The pH value, leached metal concentration and strength of stabilized soil were measured, and the relationships between these properties were also investigated. In addition, immo-bilization mechanism was also analyzed based on modified European Community Bureau of Refer-ence ( BCR) sequential extraction procedure. The results show that the pH value of stabilized soil first increases and then declines with increasing time, and ranges from 8. 93 to 9. 03 after 28 d. MC can significantly reduce leached Zn, Pb, Cd concentrations. The weak acid soluble fraction ( F1 ) contents of Zn, Pb, Cd decrease while residual fraction (F4) contents increase with increasing bind-er content. The qu increases with increasing soil pH, and is in the range of 620. 63 to 1 004. 76 kPa at day 28 and significantly higher than that of untreated soil. Strong negative correlations are ob-served between leached heavy metal concentrations and the pH values of TCLP/SPLP leachate. The heavy metal extraction ratio of F1 of BCR is significantly higher than those of TCLP/SPLP, and the differences between them increase with increasing MC content.
