Creating a New Civilization is the Core Characteristic of the World Class Universities

Abstract
Creating a new civilization is the core characteristic of the world class universities.Western universities were born among the shadow of medieval religious culture,which inherit and innovate the civilization of humanism.As an important form of higher education,academies in ancient China inherit and innovate the Confucian moral humanism culture,and create Chinese classical civilization of virtue. Modern universities have made concerted efforts to create a new culture with democratic and scientific characteristics.It makes the new civilization of democracy and science very popular.In the contempo-rary world,the university is closely related to the nation.The university has become the cradle of dif-ferent national characteristics of multicultural construction and development.Thus,it constructs a di-verse civilization ecology with different individualities.In the great cause of building the world civiliza-tion community,future world class universities need to advocate and build a shared culture,demon-strate its great cultural mission and historical tasks,and make contributions to the poetic flavor of hu-man world′s civilization.关键词
