Numerical Study on the Influence of Multiple Wind Turbine Operation on Surface Boundary Layer

Abstract
By analyzing the variation of the wind speed and turbulent kinetic energy in the vertical direction of the wind turbine, the potential influence of the operation of multiple wind turbines on the surface boundary layer was studied. Gambit software was used to establish multiple wind turbine and wind field model, and the Fluent software was used to simulate the flow of four sets of wind turbine in parallel and stagger arrangement. Results show that the velocity and turbulent kinetic energy distribution in the surface boundary layer are affected by the rotation of the wind turbine. The boundary layer height is also increased with the inhomogeneous velocity distribution along the vertical direction. The variation regularity of wind speed and turbulent kinetic energy is different in different altitude. In the three times diameter height over the wind turbine, the speed of the flow is reduced along the streamwise direction, and the velocity decay in stagger arrangement is much higher than that of in parallel arrangement. The turbulent kinetic energy decreases along the flow direction, and it has a step change over the impeller position. On the whole, the turbulent kinetic energy in staggered arrangement is higher than that in the same position of parallel arrangement.关键词
