Abstract
Purpose/Significance]With the development of information technology and the evolution of management philosophy, the government has produced and collected more various information. Classifying government information resource is necessary to targeted management and better efficiency. Current research focuses on the content of government information resource, failing to recognize differ-ent management requirements. [ Method/Process] On the basis of analyzing the limitation of current ways of government information re-source classification, a function-based classification strategy is proposed. The categories of information resource and the method of imple-mentation are discussed. [ Result/Conclusion] The government information resource is classified into four categories, including rule-illus-trating, fact-describing, communication-recording and external evidence, with different management emphases. An implement approach is proposed on the basis of information life cycle. The management strategy is applied to the website of Ministry of Commerce and sugges-tions are offered.关键词
