Abstract

The permeability of reservoir landslide is influenced by drying-wetting cycle induced by reservoir water level fluc-tuation. Based on the original large permeability meter, we developed the experimental apparatus capable of measuring the per-meability coefficient under wetting-drying cycle. On the basis of undisturbed gravel soil, the remolded samples with different gravel content and porosity ratio were prepared to explore the relationship between the permeability coefficient of reservoir land-slide and times of drying-wetting cycles, and the effect of drying-wetting cycle on gravel soil permeability coefficient was stud-ied. The results show that the drying-wetting cycle has a remarkable impact on the samples of smaller porosity ratio and the per-meability coefficient of these samples has the largest increment. According to the microstructure of gravel-soil, we carried out a preliminary analysis on the variation mechanism of gravel soil permeability coefficient. The research results can provide reference for determining the permeability coefficient of gravel soil in landslide stability analysis.
