Spatial Difference and Influence Factors of Coordination of Population-Land-Econom ic Urbanization in Hubei Province

Abstract
With the ten years(2004-2013) of implementing strategy of “the rise of central China” as the research time, temporal evolution and spatial difference were analyzed and investigated by Theil index based on measuring Hubei regional coordination of urbanization .The econ-ometric model was established to research the influence factors of coordination of urbanization .The result suggested that the coordination of ur-banization in Hubei Province presented spatial pattern of unbalanced development:development strategy of “one main and two vice” and rela-tive lag in the surrounding mountain area.Through the analysis of Theil index, regional internal difference was the main source of coordination difference of urbanization in Hubei province.Eastern Hubei was affected greatly by the ecological environment factor;central HuBei was im-pacted by the coordination between industries and urbanization;western Hubei was influenced by population-land coordination and industries-urbanization coordination.So Hubei Province should lessen rural-urban gap according to local conditions, to advance the coordination level of urbanization:Eastern Hubei should focus on improving ecological environment, central Hubei should accelerate industries transformation, opti-mization and upgrade; while western Hubei needs to promote population urbanization level and industrial agglomeration degree.关键词
