Analysis and calculation of winding eddy current loss in stator-coreless axial-flux permanent magnet machine

Abstract
In order to improve the calculation accuracy of the winding eddy current loss in the stator coreless axial-flux permanent magnet (AFPM)machine,a 3 D magnetic field analytical model was derived,and the 3 D finite element analysis (FEA)was used to validate the effectiveness of the mod-el.Then,based on the 3 D analytical solutions,the coreless winding eddy current loss of the proto-type was calculated,considering 3 D magnetic field and harmonic components and the influence of axial position on the loss through delaminating the winding axially.Finally,the experiment was per-formed on the prototype and the analytical results were compared with the experimental results and empirical formula.The results demonstrate that the proposed eddy current loss solution which consid-ers 3 D magnetic field,harmonic components and axial position is 34%higher than the empirical for-mula result in the range of the studied speed and it is closer to the actual situation.关键词
