摘要

Abstract

Objective]WRKY transcription factor is one of the biggest gene families that are important regulators of ma-jor plant processes,including growth,development,and responses to stress.However,there is limited information a-bout the numbers,structures and functions of those WRKY transcription factors in foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) P.Beauv.).[Methods]In this paper,the WRKY transcription factor gene family in foxtail millet were separated and i-dentified by bioinformatics,and the expression were analyzed by qRT-PCR.[Results]In our study,103 WRKY tran-scription factor-encoding genes were identified in the S .italica genome.The genes were named SiWRKY1 to Si-WRKY103 according to their order on the chromosomes.The expression among four different tissues was analyzed u-sing publicly available RNA sequencing data.The expression of SiWRKY genes in response to dehydration were ana-lyzed by qRT-PCR.[Conclusion]In conclusion,most SiWRKY genes (>80%)were up-regulated by drought stress,it may indicated that these genes play very important roles for drought-resistant in millet,and our conclusion will provide a set of candidates genes for the research of plants’response to drought stress.
