Abstract
Objective To explore the etiology , insulin-like growth-factor-Ⅰ ( IGF-Ⅰ) and bone age of the children with short stature . Methods Retrospective study was conducted on clinical data of 242 children with short stature visiting department of endocrinology in First Center Hospital in Baoding between 2015 and 2016.Results In 242 patients, idiopathic short stature (ISS) occupied 25.62%, familial short stature occupied 16.94%, growth hormone deficiency ( GHD) short stature occupied 14.88%, nutritional deficiency ( ND) growth retardation occupied 13.22% and intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) occupied 7.85%, respectively.They were the top five short statures .But ND growth retardation was the first cause in children with short stature under 7 years old .Statistical differences were found in IGF-Ⅰand △age (actual age-bone age) among GHD group, ND group and IUGR group (F value was 42.317 and 14.346,respectively, both P<0.01).GHD group and ND group were statistically different from IUGR group in IGF-Ⅰand△age (IGF-Ⅰ:t value was 8.732 and 7.443,respectively, both P<0.01;△age:t value was 5.431 and 2.496,respectively, both P<0.05).Compared to ND group,△age was significantly different (t=3.051,P<0.05) but IGF-Ⅰwas not in GHD group.Conclusion ISS and GHD are the main causes of children with short stature .Etiology of short stature can be initially judged according to IGF-Ⅰ and bone age .ND growth retardation accounts an important position in the etiology of children under the age of 7.关键词
