Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of removable periodontal splint with cast framework on dental arch with pe-riodontitis. Methods:Initial periodontal therapy was applied to 40 eligible patients that were randomly assigned either to re-movable periodontal splint or to removable partial denture. The changes were observed and recorded about relevant periodontal index at different time. Results:The plaque index( PLI) and bleeding index( BI) of the assessed teeth in removable periodon-tal splint group increased after 24 months(P<0. 05). However,the periodontal probing depth(PD)decreased after 12 and 24 months statistically(P<0. 05). And PLI,BI and PD of the assessed teeth in removable partial denture group increased after 12 months(P<0. 05). Conclusion:Removable periodontal splint can improve the periodontal status of chronic periodontitis, and it is more effective than removable partial denture.关键词
