Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of different tongue images in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods One hundred and seventy three patients with pathology confirmed colorectal can⁃cer were retrospectively included in this study. According to clinical staging, the cases were divided into ear⁃ly-stage group and late-stage group. The features of tongue such as coating, texture, and shape were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results The tongue features of yellow greasy moss (47.6%), reddish tongue (52.4%) and crack tongue (40.5%) were frequent in early-stage patients. White greasy moss (47.6%), pur⁃ple tongue (67.2%) and plump tongue (51.9%) were frequent in late-stage patients. There was statistical differ⁃ence in the distribution (P<0.05). The median sur⁃vival time was 38.8 months for patients with yellow greasy moss, reddish tongue rack tongue and was 21.1 months for those white greasy moss, purple tongue, plump tongue (HR=0.42, 95%CI:0.24-0.92,P<0.05). Conclusion There are differences in the characteristics of tongue image in different stages of colorectal cancer, which can be used as a reference for prognosis.关键词
