摘要

Abstract

The effect of high intensity conditioning before flotation on hydrophobic flocculation of sulfide minerals and its relationship with flotation of low-grade copper-nickel sulfide ore were investigated through microscopic image analysis and the flotation experiments of monomineral and actual ore. The relation curve of agitation time and flocculation size was obtained by image analysis software. The results show that the turbulence flow conditions generated by high intensity conditioning makes mineral particles collide and form hydrophobic flocculation, which leads to the increase of the surface wettability and better floatability. The flocculation sizes increase with the agitation time at the agitation speed of 1 000 r/min. High intensity conditioning before flotation improves the flotation rate of the single mineral pyrrhotite and copper-nickel sulfide minerals in low-grade copper-nickel sulfide ore. Hydrophobic flocculation of sulphide minerals is the main reason that high intensity conditioning improves the flotation recovery of low-grade sulfide ore.
