Impact of Crowbar on the Transient Characteristic of DFIG Electromagnetic Power

Abstract
The penetration of wind energy is increasing and the system stability is related to the electromagnetic power of wind generators. This paper studies the impact of crowbar on the transient characteristics of doubly-fed induction gen⁃erator(DFIG)electromagnetic power during grid faults. The equation of DFIG electromagnetic power is derived based on the mathematical model of DFIG,and the influencing factors related to DFIG electromagnetic power is analyzed. In contrast with the DFIG that does not bave any crowbar,the dynamic transient characteristics of the above factors and their impact on the electromagnetic power are discussed with the utilization of crowbar. Theoretical analysis and simula⁃tion results indicate that the electromagnetic power of a crowbar-based DFIG fluctuates severely,and it cannot be con⁃sidered as a constant. The results of this research provide a theoretical basis for further research on the impact of DFIG on the system transient stability.关键词
