Abstract
Objective To examine the effect of individualized nursing on the emotion and quality of life of elderly patients experienced after cataract surgery .Method 110 cataract surgery patients were randomly divided into an experimental group ( n=55 ) and a control group ( n=55 ) .The control group were treated with conventional nursing while the experimental group with individualized nursing in addition to that given to the control group. Anxiety and depression of the two groups as observed before surgery and after discharge were then compared .The postoperative life quality and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were also assessed .Findings Before operation , no significant difference was found between the two groups in anxiety, depression and quality of life (P>0.05).After operation, the anxiety and depression and quality of life scores of the experimental group were significantly better than those of the control group ( P<0.05 ) .The postoperative nursing satisfaction of the experimental group was also significantly better than that of the control group ( P<0 .05 ) .Conclusion Individualized nursing can significantly improve elderly patient's negative mood , enhance their life quality after surgery and nursing satisfaction , and therefore facilitate recovery .关键词
