Influence of Constraint Strength of Shells on the Performance of Thermobaric Explosives Blasting in the Air

Abstract
To assess the influence of constraint strength of shells on the blasting performance of thermobaric charge, the static blasting experiment in air of solid thermobaric explosive under the constraint strength of different shells was carried out.The numerical simulation of the process was performed by AUTODYN software.The simulated results were compared with the test ones.The results show that the shock wave parameters, shock wave decay rate and after-burning pressure of charges without shell are higher than those of the explosives with shell under the same charging volume condition, and the shock wave parameters, after-burning pressure and shock wave decay rate of charges with aluminum shell are higher than those of charges with steel shells.The shock wave curve shape, peak and impulse obtained by numerical simulation are in good agreement with the experimental results.The arrival time of after-burning peak of explosion shock wave of charges without shell is earlier than that of charges with shells, and the arrival time of after-burning peak of explosion shock wave of charges with aluminum shell is earlier than that of charges with steel shell.The thickness of the shells have a larger impact on initial shock wave overpressure and the metal shells delay the spread of shock wave.关键词
