The online-survey of prevalence of anxiety in middle school students in Beijing

Abstract
Objective To investigate the status of anxiety disorder in middle school students in Beijing.Methods All Data was obtained via electronic questionnaire of WenJuanXing in WeChat platform,of which all the IP address came from Beijing.Results A total of 226 electronic questionnaires were collected including 38 junior school students and 188 senior high school students aged from 12 to 18.About 96.9%(219/226) students heard about anxiety while 3.1% (7/226) students didn’t.79.6% (180/226) students thought themselves to have anxiety while 20.4% (46/226) didn’t.13.3% (30/226) students were diagnosed with anxiety (SAS≥50).The SAS of all the students ranged from 25 to 76 with a mean (39.43±0.65).The mean SAS of Junior school students was (39.11±1.88),and the mean SAS of senior high school students was (39.49±0.68).There were no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05). ConclusionAnxiety disorder is the most common psychological disorders in middle school students.Academic stress is the main cause to anxiety disorder in middle school students,and other causes include excessive self-esteem or inferiority,family environment etc.The society should pay more attention to the adolescent anxiety disorder.关键词
