摘要

Abstract

A patch antenna is designed based on the structures of complementary split-ring-resonators( CS-RR) and strip-line gaps. The metamaterial structure is constructed via etching CSRR structures with cir-cular shapes and employing strip-line gaps on the ground. They cooperate with the dielectric slab to signif-icantly extend the antenna's operating frequency bands to 1. 7~2. 98 GHz and 3. 99~5. 34 GHz. The an-tenna can be fabricated utilizing only one single-layer substrate with both sides covered with copper,whose structure is pretty simple. The antenna has an electrical dimension of only 0. 408λ0í0. 408λ0í0. 008 6λ0 ( at the lowest operating frequency of 1. 7 GHz of the antenna) with a peak gain of 6. 04 dBi. It is compati-ble with multiple commercial bands at the same time including all the bands of the fourth generation(4G) of Chinese mobile communication(1. 88~2. 66 GHz),WiFi(2. 4~2. 484 GHz),and the worldwide inter-operability for microwave access(WiMAX)(2. 5~2. 69 GHz).
