摘要

Abstract

An ultra-wideband(UWB)resistor-loaded monopole antenna working at 60 MHz center fre-quency for a practical vehicle-mounted ground penetrating radar(GPR)is designed.The VSWR,radiation patterns and time-domain waveforms of the antenna system are studied,and the effects of the electrical prop-erties of the layer,i.e.,permittivity and loss tangent on the detection range are also analyzed.The antenna system is manufactured and mounted on a vehicle according to the simulation results.Then it is tested in the Laohugou Glacier No.12 of Gansu province.The simulated and measured results show that the designed an-tenna has a low voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR),good radiation characteristics and small late-time rin-ging.It has light weight and is easy to install,which can satisfy the requirements of the GPR system.
