Abstract

This paper presents a joint call admission control algorthm based on business categories. When selecting the network access, real-time services, with respect to the non-real-time services, should reduce the switching frequency as far as possible to reduce handover delay. Non-real-time services require higher data transfer rate and are delay-insensitive. Thus when the two network resources are sufficient, real-time services access to a cellular network of first choice, and non-real-time services prefer wireless local area networks. The blocking probability of new business—the important indicator of admission control algorithm is analyzed in heterogeneous network. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm takes into account load balancing, effectively uses resources in the system and improves resource utilization of the system, and blocking probability of new business is significantly lower than others.
