Effect Evaluation on the Implementation of Fresh Poultry Meat Marketing Policy in the Retail LiveBird Markets in Guangzhou City

Abstract
In order to evaluate the implementation effect of the“centralized slaughtering,cold chain distribution, fresh poultry meat listing and marketing”system in Guangzhou City,so as to provide scientific basis for adjusting the comprehensive prevention and control measures for avian influenza(AI),an investigation was conducted in regions both limiting and allowing live-bird marketing(11 live-bird markets were selected on behalf of each type of the regions,respectively)during March to April,2016. Altogether 496 cotton swabs were collected from internal and external market environment and detected by fluorescent RT-PCR for avian influenza virus type A and subtype H9. Results showed that in the restricted and non-restricted regions,the positive rates of avian influenza type A were 81.06% and 89.22% respectively,which showed a significant difference(p<0.01). And that of avian influenza subtype H9 were 25.55% and 43.12% respectively,existing a highly significant difference(p<0.01). Meanwhile, among the wipe samples of ground surface derived from external environment of restricted region,the positive rate of AI was 54.55%,while that in non-restricted region was 100%,still showing a significant difference. Moreover,in internal environment,obvious difference was also found in samples from sewage and stall ground surface between restricted and non-restricted regions. These results indicated that the adopted measures of restricting live bird marketing and fresh poultry meat listing and marketing had played a certain positive role in AI prevention and control. However, there still exist some problems needing to be improved,and corresponding suggestions were given,such as strictly implementing measures of centralized slaughtering and cold chain distribution,etc.关键词
