Applications of Discrete Element Method on Geotechnical Engineering
摘要
Abstract
The discrete element method (DEM ) advocates the observation of the properties of macro me-chanics from both microscopic and mesoscopic viewpoint ,so DEM has become a hot topic in geotechnical engineering .In this paper ,the characteristics of DEM are firstly introduced briefly .Then ,according to the study in both foreign and domestic academia ,the application developments in geotechnical studies of DEM and its coupling formats with other calculation methods are discussed .The obtained results could provide technical data and reference for related researches .关键词
