A Tunable Gain-Switched Er:ZBLAN Mid-Infrared Fiber Laser

Abstract
A wavelength-tunable and gain switched mid-infrared 2.8μm fiber laser is intro-duced.The pulsed output is obtained from Er3+-doped ZBLAN double-clad fiber pumped by a laser-diode(LD) with central wavelength of 975 nm.The wavelength and the repetition rate of the laser can be tuned in the range of 2.703-2.819μm and 1-10 kHz,respectively. The maximum averaged output power of 110 mW,and the minimum pulse width of 661.2 ns are measured at the calculated peak power of 16.5 W,corresponding to a slope efficiency of 28.6% at a repetition of 10 kHz.关键词
