英汉语空间范畴的语言表征及空间隐喻研究
A Study of Linguistic Representation of English and Chinese Spatial Categories and Spatial Metaphors
摘要
Abstract
Spatial concepts are universal concepts, and there are spatial categories and spatial conceptual systems in both English and Chinese. There are expressions denoting such concepts as spatial orientations, spatial relations, spatial dimensions and spatial motions in both English and Chinese. Although there are minor differences in the way of conceptualizing in the two languages, spatial words are mapped into such domains as perception, amounts, forces, time, evaluations, age, relations and attitudes, states and degrees. This seems to prove that spatial cognition is the basic means of cognition for both English and Chinese speakers.关键词
