Abstract
Objective To investigate the loneliness and stigma of patients with schizophrenia and to explore the relationship between them. Methods With a self-made general condition questionnaire, UCLA loneliness scale and Perceived Devaluation-Discrimination, 110 cases of patients with schizophrenia were investigated. Results The total score of loneliness of patients with schizophrenia was 43.27±9.98. Sixty-eight patients scored 40~59, indicating a slight loneliness, accounting for 61.8%and 8 ones 60~79, revealing loneliness in mediate level, accounting for 7.3%. The mean score of dimensions of stigma was 2.44±0.52, which was close to median score and had no statistical significance (P>0.05). There was positive relationship between stigma and loneliness (r=0.486, P=0.003). Conclusion Stigma and loneliness exist commonly among patients with schizophrenia;good relationship between medical staff and patients and more attention to psychological health of the patients are conducive to lowering the level of stigma and loneliness.关键词
