Abstract
To investigate the leakage problem below a tailing dam in Yunnan province, a three dimensional fi⁃nite element model was developed according to the hydrogeological and engineering geological characteristics. The effects of groundwater seepage under full⁃reservoir and normal condition were studied and analyzed respectively. The calculated results show that the foundation′s seepage overflow point at downstream slope toe presents higher hy⁃draulic gradient. Thus the pavement of permeable filter gravel layer (0.8-1.0 cm) above 3-5m range of foundation soil at downstream slope toe was proposed. It is suggested that the geotechnical membrane should be laid at the bot⁃tom of the dam to reduce the seepage around both sides and lower the soaking line of the dam.关键词
