Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical effect of topical application of minocycline ointment and topical metronidazole gel in the treatment of periodontitis.MethodsOne hundred and ten patients with chronic periodontitis were divided into two groups: the control group and the observation group (55 cases). The control group was treated with metronidazole gel, Patients in the observation group were treated with minocycline ointment topically and the results were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe effective rate of treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions were better in the observation group than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the plaque index (PLT), depth of periodontal pocket (PD), sulcus bleeding index (SBI) Gingival index (GI) and other periodontal indicators were better than the control group, the difference between the two groups was significant,P<0.05. ConclusionMinocycline ointment is superior to metronidazole gel in the treatment of periodontitis. It can improve the periodontal index of the patients and has less adverse reactions. It is worthy to be popularized.关键词
