Effect and Mechanism of the Intake Proportion of Nutrients on Handgrip Strength of Patients with Hypertension in Zhangfang Village of Fangshan District of Beijing

摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect and possible mechanism of the intake proportion of nutrients on handgrip strength of patients with hypertension in Zhangfang Village of Fangshan District of Beijing. Methods In May 2014, Department of Nutrition in Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University carried out free clinics for villagers in Zhangfang Village, and according to the inclusion criteria, 69 patients with hypertension were enrolled as research objects. Physical indicators〔including body mass index( BMI),content of body fat( BF),waist ―hip ratio( WHR),arm muscle circumference ( AMC )〕were detected;the handgrip strength was measured by the grip dynamometer;and their drinking,smoking, activities and sleeping situations were recorded. The nutritional intake situation of villagers〔including carbohydrates intake proportion ( CHO﹪), protein intake proportion ( PRO﹪), fat intake proportion ( FAT﹪)〕was investigated by 24―hour dietary recall method. All the subjects'fasting venous blood was drawn to conduct the high―sensitivity C―reactive protein(hs-CRP). Results The CHO﹪ was positively related with hs-CRP and BF(p〈0. 05),and negatively related with AMC ( p 〈 0. 05 ). The PRO﹪ and FAT﹪ were negatively related with hs-CRP ( p 〈 0. 05 );PRO﹪ was negatively related with BF,and was positively related with AMC(p 〈0. 05). The hs-CRP was negatively related with grip strength of the left hand and the right hand(p〈0. 05). In the body indexes,BF was negatively related with handgrip strength ( p〈0. 05 ), and AMC was positively related with handgrip strength ( p 〈0. 05 ) . Conclusion Among the patients with hypertension,CHO﹪ and PRO﹪ may affect the level of grip strength by changing the degree of inflammatory reaction and body composition. Improving the dietary pattern,increasing the PRO﹪,and decreasing the CHO﹪ properly can alleviate the body inflammation reaction,decrease the body fat,increase the muscle mass,improve handgrip strength and muscle strength,and enhance the quality of life.
