Abstract

The Pseudorabies virus (PRV, JS-2012-△gI/gE strain) inactivated with 0.15%formalin was homogenized with MONTANIDE ISA 201 VG (SEPPIC) to prepare the inactivated swine PR vaccine. In order to evaluate the protective efifcacy of the inactivated swine PR vaccine, fifteen 2-week-old piglets which were free of PRV, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), porcine circovirus (PCV2) and classical swine fever virus (CSFV)) were selected randomly and divided equally into three groups. Group 1 were inoculated intramuscularly (i.m.) with 2 mL of inactivated swine Pseudorabies vaccines (JS-2012-△gI/gE strain). At 28 days-post-ifrst inoculation, group 1 and group 2 were inoculated intramuscularly. with the inactivated vaccines at the same dosage. group 3 served as uninoculated control. At 28 days post-inoculation (DPI), all piglets were challenged intranasally with 105.0 TCID50 of PRV (JS-2012 strain). Following the challenge, clinical signs and rectal temperatures were recorded daily for 14 days. The results showed PRV g B antibody levels of piglets vaccinated twice (Group 1) was higher than those vaccinated once (Group 2), The protective efifcacy of the inactivated swine PR vaccine against PRV after double inoculation(Group 1) was better than that after single inoculation (Group 2).
