Abstract
Objective This study objective was to survey and analyse the students' cognitive level of military medical university, and to provide the reference for the future education. Methods A survey questionnaire was applied to a study sample of undergraduate students from a military medical university;the study sample was obtained by using a cluster sampling method. SPSS 16.0 software was applied for statistical analysis. Results Of the 280 undergraduate students surveyed, most students gained their disaster medicine knowledge from television (27.9%); less than 60% of survey participants answered questions regarding triage and evacuation, and psychological relief skills, correctly;of the remaining questions, more than 60%of survey participants answered correctly;the number of correct answers for the questions regarding wounded triage and evacuation, and disaster relief skills, was higher for disaster medical students who had opted for elective courses than students who had not, the differences were all statistically significant (χ2=14.903,P=0.046;χ2=12.376,P=0.028). For the questions with subjective answers, more than 60.0%of the students believed a knowledge in disaster medicine was necessary to grasp, a disaster medicine curriculum should be set up from kindergarten, there should be regular participation in disaster simulation training and disaster emergency rescue teams should be established;attending lectures was determined to be the most interesting way of learning(62.1%), and 83.2%of survey participants felt it was important to include various emergency basic skills in the course. Conclusions Currently, the content of undergraduate disaster medical education is not adequate, it should receive greater attention and a variety of teaching methods should be adopted to strengthen disaster medicine education and knowledge.关键词
