Power Spectrum Characteristics of Fault Arc Current Signal Based on Welch Algorithm and Arc Fault Diagnosis

Abstract
In order to realize the accurate diagnosis of arc fault in low voltage distribution system,the power spectrum of fault arc current signal under mixed load conditions was analyzed by using Welch algorithm,based on the experimental results of the carbon electrode arc fault.Three characteristics of arc fault current signal power spectrum are proposed:(1) there is a rising trend in the frequency range;(2) the change of power spectrum is relatively stable;(3) the power spectrum value increases in a certain degree.According to the three characteristics of power spectrum,a new method,the method of area change rate,was presented for the arc fault analysis and diagnosis.The study shows that the method can be used in the arc fault diagnosis of residential distribution system.The research result can provide theoretical guidance for the development of arc fault diagnosis.关键词
