Temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of PM2.5 in Shijiazhuang urban areas

Abstract
The air pollution is serious in Shijiazhuang,especially the PM2.5 concentration is often high.Analysis of long time series about the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of PM2.5 in Shijiazhuang is needed in order to understand more comprehensively the change regulation.The spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of PM2.5 during 2013-2015 are analyzed based on the PM2.5 monitoring data released by Shijiazhuang Environmental Monitoring Center with the spatial analysis method GIS.The analytical results show that the annual average concentration of PM2.5 in Shijiazhuang is 154 μg/m3 in 2013,124 μg/m3 in 2014,and 89 μg/m3 in 2015.The monthly average concentration of PM2.5 changes in a wave-shape curve,and the diurnal variation of PM2.5 shows bimodal distribution.Weekend effects are significant for PM2.5,with higher concentration over the weekend.The annual average concentration of PM2.5 is lower in the southern and eastern regions while higher in the northern area,however the heavily polluted area is shrinking,while the less polluted area is gradually expanding.The results could benefit further understanding on the spatiotemporal patterns of PM2.5 pollution in Shijiazhuang accurately,and promote environmental pollution prevention and control measures accordingly.关键词
