Study on soil water balance of apple orchards in the Loess Tableland of China
摘要
Abstract
A typical tableland in the Loess Plateau, Changwu plateau, was selected to analyze the soil water balance of apple orchards by measuring various components of water budget such as soil evaporation, plant transpiration, and soil water content. The purpose was to understand and evaluate the eco-hydrological effect of extensive planting of the economic apple forest in the Loess Tableland. The results showed that: 1) the contribution to the evapotranspiration in the apple forestland ranked in the order of canopy interception<soil evaporation < plant transpiration, and soil evaporation in the young forestland (9 a) was greater than that of the mature forestland (19 a) while plant transpiration of the mature forest was greater than that of the young forestland; 2) soil evaporation and plant transpiration had the tendency of increasing ifrst and then decreasing, and soil evaporation reached the maximum in June while plant transpiration reached the maximum in July; 3) in 2014, the closure error of water balance for the mature and young forestlands from May to August were 19.2 mm and -36.7 mm respectively, accounting for 7.9% and 15.1% of the precipitation during this period; in 2015, the closure error of water balance for the mature forestland from May to September were 15.7 mm, accounting for 4.3% of the precipitation during the period, while the value of the young forest was -0.1 mm. The results would provide theoretical support for the restructuring of farmland and orchard in the Loess Plateau and the sustainable use of limited soil water resources.关键词
