Online Protest:An Important Field Awaiting to be Studied
摘要
Abstract
Purpose/Significance] This study aims to help improve the efficiency of public opinion guidance via discussing the develop-ment laws of virtual protest based on the historical background of virtualization of social protest. [ Method/Process] The paper uses the documentary methodology to compare the differences between “online mass incidents” and “online protest”, and reviews the theory re-sources available for the research on“online protest”:the four paradigms of social protest research such as social psychology, political so-ciology, culture study and contentious politics; the three mechanisms of internet impact on social protest such as information flow, social capital and public opinion. [ Result/Conclusion] In the end, the author summarizes the concept definition, research types and research di-mensions of “online protest”, and proposes three dimensions of public opinion guidance research :text, intermedia and structure.关键词
