Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of acupuncture on inflammatory factors and prognosis in patients with carotid artery stenting(CAS). Methods:Sixty-six patients with CAS were randomly divided into control group and acupuncture group,33 cases in each group. The control group was given routine drug treatment, while the acupuncture group was given acupuncture and routine drug treatment. C reactive protein (CRP), plasma interleukin-6(IL-6) level and cerebrovascular events were observed before and after CAS. Results:CRP,the IL-6 level at 1 hr and 10 days after CAS were significantly higher than those before CAS in two groups. CRP,IL-6 and incidence of cerebrovascular events in the acupuncture group at 10 days and 6 months after CAS were significantly lower than those in the control group,with statistical signifance(P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture could reduce the level of CRP and IL-6 after CAS and the incidence of cere-brovascular events in the patients with CAS.关键词
