摘要

Abstract

Nanometer titanium dioxide (nano- TiO2) was surface treated by silane coupling (KH- 570). Then nano- TiO2/acrylate composite emulsion was prepared by emulsion polymerization with methyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate as comonomer and potassium sulfate as initiator. The effects of temperature, amount of initiator, emusifier and nano- TiO2 on monomer conversion rate, the particle size and size distribution of emulsion were discussed. The properties of modified nano- TiO2 was characterized by FTIR, and the prepared composite emulsion was characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), laser nano- particle size an⁃alyzer (DLS). The results showed that the monomer conversion rate was more than 95% when the reaction temperature was 85 ℃, the amount of the emusifier, initiator and nano- TiO2 was 5%, 0.5% and 2%, respec⁃tively. The emulsion particle size was relatively smal , and the distribution was narrow.
