Abstract
Nano- scale anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2) was in- situ formed on the cotton fabric by pad hy⁃drothermal method at low temperature using butyl titanate as precursor, and characterized by X- ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The self- cleaning properties of the loaded cotton fabric were stud⁃ied by using decolorization rate of methylene blue (MB) and degradation ability of three dyes under ultraviolet and visible light as indexes. The UV resistance of the finished fabric was analyzed by UV- Vis spectrum. XRD analysis showed that TiO2 on the fabric was mainly anatase with a diameter of 6.4 nm. SEM observation showed that a lot of nano- TiO2 particles were uniformly distributed on the surface of cotton fabric. Ultravio⁃let- visible (UV- Vis) measurements showed that the UV transmittance of the TiO2- loaded fabric was signifi⁃cantly reduced. The MB decolorization rate of the TiO2- loaded fabric treated with UV light for 19 h was 92.13%, and the decolorization rate increased after soaping. So the TiO2- loaded cotton fabrics had good self-cleaning performance and durability.关键词
