Abstract
Objective This study investigated the effects of different disinfection methods for impression disinfection efifcacy and dimensional stability, provide the basis for clinical application.Methods Alginate samples were made and the surfaces were contaminated with three different species of bacteria (Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Bacillus subtilis). The samples were then sterilized by different disinfection methods (Hygojet Dental Cleaner, glutaraldehyde soak for 10 minutes, glutaraldehyde soak for 30 minutes, and running water for 30 seconds). The test pieces stained with agar gently touch the plate for 1 hour, remove the specimen, the agar plate in the incubator overnight culture. The next day to observe the colonies on the plate to agar plate without colony complete kill, calculate the kill rate. And the three diameters of the specimens after sterilization were measured. The average diameter was calculated and compared with the diameter before sterilization, and the dimensional stability was compared.Results The disinfection effect of each group is different. The use of Hygojet Dental cleaning device, the mold is ideal for disinfection, killing 100% of E. coli, Candida albicans and Bacillus subtilis kill rate also reached 95%. The remaining centralized methods are less than ideal. In addition to running water group, other groups have appeared impression expansion, about Hygojet dental wax cleaner set stamp deformation 1% glutaraldehyde solution for 30 minutes at about 5% deformation group.ConclusionHygojet dental cleaning agent disinfect the best, impression deformation in the acceptable range, can be further applied in clinical practice.关键词
