Abstract

Based on China High Resolution Emission Gridded Data (CHRED), this paper has established CO2 emission inventory of prefecture-level cities and analyzed the spatial characteristics of CO2 emissions in Xinjiang.The 'bottom-up' method is adopted to establish emissions inventory, and statistical methods are used to analyze statistical characteristics of emissions data.Results of the study include: ①From the overall, direct CO2 emissions are basically divided into the north and the south along Tianshan Mountains, and emissions in the north are higher than the south.②From the regional, CO2 emissions in the Economic Belt on the Northern Slop of the Tianshan Mountains are the highest.Emissions of the Silk Road Economic Belt decrease progressively from the middle channel, the north channel to the south channel.③From the sectors perspective, CO2 emissions from service industries and urban residence have the highest correlation, while indirect emissions and other sectors have the weakest correlation.④From the type, prefecture-level industrial cities have the highest CO2 emissions per capita, and their averages are slightly lower than the service industry, but much higher than other cities.The greater prefecture-level city has less average CO2 emissions per capita.It drew following conclusions: ①There are spactial significant differences of CO2 emissions in Xinjiang.The overall efficiency of cities which have large emissions are not high, which should be focus of emissions reduction zones.②Industrialization and urbanization are important factors which affect CO2 emissions in Xinjiang, and will be key points for emissions reduction.③The situation of energy output which leads to high local CO2 emissions, should be considered when provincial ecological compensation and quota system of carbon emissions are implemented.
