Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of hemoperfusion for the organophosphorus poisoning. Methods 95 cases of organophosphate poisoning from September 2010 to September 2014 in the hospital were selected. 32 cases who were poisoned within 12 h and accepted hemoperfusion were selected into group A, 28 cases who were poisoned more than 12 h and accepted hemoperfu-sion were selected into group B, 35 cases who were poisoned and didn't accept hemoperfusion were selected into group C. All groups were treated with the same treatment regimen for organophosphorus poisoning. Group A and B were added with hemoperfusion. The dif-ferences in cholinesterase activity, atropine using and clinical efficacy among the 3 groups were compared. Results Group A and B had higher cholinesterase activity than group C at the time point of 4, 24 and 48 h after treatment ( P ﹤ 0. 01 ) , and group A had higher cholinesterase activity than group B at the time point of 4, 24 and 48 h after treatment ( P ﹤ 0. 01 ); group A and B had shorter 50% cholinesterase recovery time than group C ( P ﹤ 0. 01 );the total atropine dosage, amount of atropine and atropine time in group A and B were both less than those data in C group ( P ﹤ 0. 01 );group A had the shortest average hospital stay in all groups and group C had the longest average hospital stay ( P ﹤ 0. 01 ); there were no significant difference of intermediate syndrome rate among groups ( P ﹥ 0. 05 ); the recovery rate in group A was better than group C ( P ﹤ 0. 05 ) . Conclusion Hemoperfusion has the advantage of shortening cholinesterase recovery time and the total atropine dosage, improving the clinical efficacy in the treatment for organophosphorus poisoning.
