Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the adenotonsillectomy on the quality of life in children with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS). METHODS A total of 246 children meet the standard of OSAHS were included in this study. All the children underwent the adenoidectomy and/or tonsillectomy. Disease-specific quality of life for children with obstructive sleep apnea 18 items survey questionnaire(OSA-18) were filled before operation and 6-8 months after operation. The change of OSA-18 scores reflected the change of the quality of life after operation. SPSS20.0 was used to analyze the data, P<0.05 is statistically difference.RESULTS OSA-18 scores dropped from (64.80±8.95) to (30.11±4.49) after operation. Every domains showed great improvement(P<0.05). The overall improvement rate of quality of life was 99.6%. CONCLUSION The quality of life were greatly improved after operation by surveyed with OSA-18 questionnaire. Adenotonsillectomy is an effective method to cure children with OSAHS caused by adenoid and/or tonsil hypertrophy.关键词
