Abstract
Objective To study the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with impulse electrotherapy for patients with optic atrophy. Methods 40 cases (73 eyes) were randomly divided into experimental group (20 cases,38 eyes) and control group (20 cases,35 eyes).Patients in control group were treated with acupuncture using yangbai (GB14),chengqi (ST1),fengchi (GB20),yongquan (KL1),and the visual area of scalp acupoint, lasting for a half hour, once a day.Patients in experimental group were treated with acupuncture combined with impulse electrotherapy (positive and negative electrodes were connected as the mode of the optic nerve pathway),lasting for 20 minutes, once a day. After a month of treatment, the vision improvement of both groups were observed and investigated. Results After the treatment, the vision was mainly between 0.12 to 0.6 in experimental group and 0.03 to 0.1 in control group. The visual field improvement occurred in 20 eyes in experimental group and 7 eyes in control group, with statistically significant difference (x 2=8.324,P=0.004).In experimental group, vision of 19 eyes were significantly improved,13 eyes were improved,6 eyes were unimproved, the total cure rate was 84.21%;in control group, vision of 10 eyes were significantly improved,13 eyes were improved,12 eyes were unimproved, the total cure rate was 65.71%.Conclusion Acupuncture combined with impulse electrotherapy has a better clinical effect for optic atrophy than simple acupuncture.关键词
