Dragon-god's Religion in Shandong Canal Region in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
摘要
Abstract
The dragon-gods religion has a long history and occupies an important position in the folk religion of ancient Chinese.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Shandong canal region was the area where the dragon-god's religion was very popular.Frequent flood and drought disasters are the main cause leading to the dragon-god's religion.Dragon-god's Temple is divided into two categories, one is the official building, the other is the folk Dragon god's Temple.The function of dragon-god's religion to the canal body and the official of Ming and Qing Dynasties is more reflected in the water conservancy and protection of water transport.For the local officials and the public, the main purpose is to pray for rain and enlightenment.Numerous rituals and legends derived from the activities of religion have played an important role in promoting the spread of religion and in strengthening people's geographical identity.The special natural and social environment of the canal region led to the new changes in the traditional dragon god's religion, so that it showed obvious regional feature.关键词
