Abstract

Along-Track Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(ATI-SAR) is an effective way to obtain high resolution ocean surface current field.In this paper,the factors which influence on ocean surface current measurements by ATI SAR are analyzed (polarization,incidence angle,effective along-track baseline and wind speed),and the appropriate radar system parameters are given.Then the performance of GF-3 satellite ATI mode in current retrieval is studied based on the simulation experiments.Due to the baseline length of the single satellite limits the accuracy of current monitoring,and the best performance can be achieved in the satellite formation mode,so the method for effective baseline selection of ATI-SAR in satellite formation current measurements is analyzed at last,which will provide reference for SAR system design.
