摘要

Abstract

Hyperbolic frequency modulated(HFM) signal is usually adopted in active sonar, while, the matching filter output shows larger sidelobes.The ordinary weighting sidelobe suppression methods cause obviously mainlobe widening, which results in distance resolution worsening.Considering needs of both sidelobe suppression and distance resolution, a sidelobe suppression method without mainlobe widening is proposed in this paper.The theoretical performances of the proposed method are analyzed for HFM.The results show that the proposed method combining with HFM could suppress the sidelobes and the-3dB mainlobe width is not widened, which satisfy both the needs of neighbor highlights discrimination and weak highlight detection.The experiment results of sea trial data demonstrate the validity of theoretical conclusion.The proposed method is valuable in the application of target recognition or key parts location for multi-highlights target.
