The change of intestinal physiological indexes, gut microbiota and their metabolites during goose fatty liver formation

Abstract
In mammalian animals,fatty liver formation is often associated with disorders in gut microbiota and their metabolites.However,it's unclear what's the situation in goose fatty liver formation.The aim of this study is to investigate the change of intestinal physiological indexes,gut microbiota and their metabolites during goose fatty liver formation.After 19 days' overfeeding to Landes geese at 70 days old,we measured their body weight,liver weight,jejunum length,jejunum weight,cecum length and cecum weight were measured,the change of microbiota by 16S rDNA sequencing was detected and the concentration of short chain fatty acid (SCFA) was determined by GC/MS method.Results showed that the body weight,liver weight,jejunum length and jejunum weight of overfed geese were significantly bigger than control geese (P<0.05) while cecum length and cecum weight were just the opposite.Both body weight and liver weight of control geese had positive correlation with jejunum weight,rather than cecum weight.Body weight of overfed geese had positive correlation with jejunum weight,while liver weight of overfed geese had negative correlation with cecum weight.The results of gut microbiota indicated that microbes in jejunum had no significant difference between overfed and control geese at phylum level,while Actinobacteria,Deferribacteres and Spirochaetes were different in cecum.At genus level,there were 9 taxons of microbes in jejunum different between overfed and control geese while 17 in cecum.In addition,the concentration of SCFA in cecum was significantly higher than that in jejunum,and the concentration in overfed geese were lower than control geese.However,the concentration of SCFA in jejunum between overfed and control geese was not different.In conclusion,the relationship between goose fatty liver formation and intestine,gut microbiota and their metabolites laid a foundation for further investigation of goose fatty liver formation.关键词
